Baseline: Currently reads 20 correct words per minute on a 2nd grade oral reading fluency passage

Through Optimize Learning, this student might receive specialized reading instruction focusing on

Progress expected: 

• Week 4 - Student can read 33 correct words per minute

• Week 8 - Student can read 45 correct words per minute

3rd grade student working on 1st grade math skills

Baseline: Currently writes  5 correct responses on a 1st grade Number and Operations Math assessment

Through Optimize Learning, this student might receive targeted instruction in math

• Basic number concepts

• Addition/subtraction 

• Place value

• Understanding of two/three digit numbers

• Solving a variety of word problems

Progress expected: 

• Week 4 - Student can write 10 correct responses

• Week 8 - Student can write 16 correct responses 

* This real-life student met the 1st grade benchmark and was able to start working on 2nd grade math concepts in an eight-week timeframe!

7th grade student working on writing skills. Baseline: Currently writes 22 correct words per minute on a 3 minute writing probe. Difficulties include spelling, punctuation, and maintaining written stamina.

Through Optimized Learning this student will receive direct instruction in the area of writing. 

• Sentence starters

• Writing frames

• Graphic organizers

• Story mapping

• Writing prompts

Core writing mechanics such as spelling accuracy, penmanship clarity, and proper application of punctuation marks will be assessed, reviewed  and reinforced.

Progress expected:

• Week 4 - Student can write 34 correct words in 3 minutes

• Week 8 - Student can write 49 correct words in 3 minutes
